Manager, Product Marketing

Reporting Leader: CEO/Product Manager (Ottawa-based)

Full-Time Role: Ottawa

Benbria is seeking a hands-on professional in product marketing and sales/partner support to assist in the development of messaging, collateral, training, and programs designed to successfully bring our product to market. The ideal candidate will be driven by the opportunity to build out a collateral plan and use their expertise and previous experience to work with a team of outstanding colleagues.  

They will help our product be successful in the market by ensuring the product-market fit and messaging is clear, concise, and tailored to the audiences within each vertical. They will work with sales and the product manager to ensure new technical features are translated into the tools, training, webinars, and collateral needed by sales and partners to successfully represent Benbria’s solutions in their respective global markets. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to take full-ownership of our company’s product from a marketing perspective.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for competitive analysis, geographic/vertical research, intelligence reporting, and project management of major activities related to new product or market entry, including:
  • Working with product management on research to determine product and market fit in each new global market.
  • Align closely with product management, Sales and Engineering to facilitate the appropriate flow of information between the teams.
  • Develop and continuously promote knowledge of Benbria’s platform and solution suites in order to construct and convey industry-leading use case scenarios within each industry vertical.
  • Develop tools and training programs to concisely demonstrate the strengths and features of our products and enhancements to both existing and prospective customers.
  • Drive the creation of product-specific marketing collateral, guides, slides decks, white papers and Feature Function Benefit (FFB) documentation tools.
  • Work with communications, content marketing, and digital marketing teams to ensure that appropriate product themes are communicated to the market in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate and provide support to the direct sales team in complex sales situations.
  • Support and deliver blogs, presentations and webinars highlighting product and marketing strengths.
  • Partner with Sales to lead sales training on new products/capabilities, including regular updates on product enhancements, in-market messaging, and new tools for communicating features/benefits.
  • Work with customers and partners to develop case studies, references, and testimonials.
  • Support the launch of new products and releases, defining product positioning, any unique or competitive sales propositions, and the key customer personas and buying criteria.
  • Be responsive to all inquiries from our sales team members and partners for marketing information on our products/services.
  • Work with the marketing team members to develop custom marketing collateral, sales kits, and related tools for use by strategic partners to engage their respective audiences.
  • Remotely build strong relationships with key sales and partner stakeholders to get our solution positioned with the right leads within each region.
  • Deliver ongoing training and informative webinars to all sales and partner channels focused on new product features, trends, and related tools to help them with the presentation and sale of Benbria's solutions.
  • Provide live support in the design and delivery of specialized web-based demos for major opportunities - working directly with sales and partner stakeholders.
  • Participate in weekly calls with our sales team members to ensure that territory marketing plans and opportunities in the funnel are receiving the appropriate degree of engagement.

Ideal Candidate Skills, Values, and Expectations:

  • Bachelor degree; advanced degree in business or marketing or equivalent experience desirable.
  • 3-5 years in product marketing and/or equal experience with Product Management and/or Product Marketing principles such as Practical Product Management or Pragmatic Marketing.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS a definite asset, as well as technical software within the retail, hospitality, and food services industries.
  • Experience and strong skill set working with Adobe, HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Wordpress, Microsoft Office (Outlook/Powerpoint/Excel), Google Docs, and various product road map solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, from writing collateral and web copy to delivering presentations involving business and technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, decision making, and organizational skills.
  • Self-directed, curious, and very passionate about understanding the needs of the sales team, our partners, and the market as a whole - identifying opportunities to support or improve, and communicate how the Benbria solution can address business challenges.
  • Experience in B2B sales communications - especially to an audience of senior decision makers.
  • A team collaborator who can work seamlessly between the marketing and sales functions to ensure leads are properly identified and nurtured towards sales success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up marketing team environment - with an “all hands-on deck” approach to problem solving.
  • Represents the company in a professional and responsible way to customers, partners, and the general public at all times, including in meetings, webinars, demos, customer calls, on-and-off site sales presentations (where applicable).
  • Takes on additional duties as required and to be assigned from time-to-time.
